Christmas campaign

From December 1st through to Christmas Day, over 300,000 people across Cumbria will hear an invitation to come to church at Christmas.

Christmas is a natural point in the calendar to invite people to come to church.  However, as traditional links have been lost, many people do not feel confident enough to attend a service for the first time. The aim of the radio campaign is to share the message that church at Christmas is special, meaningful, and open to all.

Radio adverts will be heard throughout the day on Heart and Smooth (covering the south of the county) and on Hits Radio Cumbria and Greatest Hits Radio Cumbria (covering the north and west of the county ). The advert will also be played on online radio and podcast services within Cumbria, such as Magic, Jazz FM and Absolute, Kiss, Kerrang and Planet Rock.

The campaign will complement churches own activities and outreach methods – as someone who has heard the campaign may more readily accept an invitation from their local church.
