Rev. Tony Ford, the vicar of St. Mark's in Barrow, has taken on a new role as the chaplain for BAE Systems in Barrow, the UK's leading submarine building site. After a six-year gap without a chaplain, Tony has reintroduced this vital support service to the company, where over 13,500 people work, with that number expected to grow. His chaplaincy provides emotional and spiritual support to workers of all faiths, or none, and is part of the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team. Tony balances his role at BAE with his duties at St. Mark's and the Barrow Raiders rugby team. He aims to eventually develop a chaplaincy team on-site, ensuring ongoing support for employees facing various life challenges.
