From the stories we’ve found ourselves in, to the stories we need to tell
Supported by the dioceses of Bath & Wells, Carlisle, Chichester, Southwark, St Albans, Truro and the National Anglican Pioneering and Fresh Expressions Advisors Network.
A day for anyone involved in pioneering, fresh expressions or any new ecclesial community that’s emerging out of contextual mission across the Church of England; or those that are interested in finding out how. People of all denominations are welcome, whether you are just curious, starting out or have years of experience.
“One of the most fruitful ways God extends his welcome and grace to people are through new forms of church. We do this not because we are bored, disillusioned and ready for a change – but because we are inspired, motivated and longing to be faithful to our call. I commend this conference to you – go along, listen to what God is asking you to do in his name, and in the power of the Spirit, obey. Play your part in turning the church inside out”
++Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury
You are invited to join us to learn from other people’s stories, share your own and take part in shaping our shared stories of fresh expressions and pioneering across the country.
Bishop Mike Harrison (Bishop’s Advocate for Pioneering and Fresh Expressions) will help us think about the distinctiveness of fresh expressions.
Our keynote speaker is Brian McLaren (pictured below); author, speaker, activist, and public theologian; who’ll talk to us from Florida.
We’ll have a series of seminars led by local practitioners who’ll be sharing their stories of how they’ve engaged with God’s mission through the fresh expressions journey and the lessons they’ve learned from: listening and loving, serving and building community, exploring discipleship and from reimagining church and worship.
There will be lots of opportunities to meet other like-minded people, network and share stories, ask questions and be part of a growing national conversation and movement. We’ll have a shared live question and answer session together and with Brian McLaren during our time together.
Due to the nature of the event unfortunately there is not an option to join in online, and whilst we recognise that for some the venues will be somewhat of a distance we hope that as many people as possible will be able to join us on the day.
Come along, bring some others, and be energised and encouraged to continue on your journey hear and share the stories we all need to tell.
Venue: We’re meeting in 3 locations across the country; London, Carlisle and Taunton and will connect virtually to each other from our 3 locations during the day.
Cost: £15 per person (including lunch) If the ticket price is prohibitive do get in touch as we would not want cost to be a barrier.
