The Way
The Way is the free newspaper of the Church in Cumbria.
It is published three times a year – spring, summer and winter – with copies being distributed digitally and churches across the county encouraged to share stories.
Content majors on how God is moving in people’s lives throughout Cumbria.
The newspaper is inter-denominational with people actively encouraged to distribute it as widely as possible.
If you have an idea for a story that could feature in The Way, please get in touch with the editor, Dave Roberts.

Rev. Tony Ford, the vicar of St. Mark's in Barrow, has taken on a new role as the chaplain for BAE Systems in Barrow, the UK's leading submarine building site. After a six-year gap without a chaplain, Tony has reintroduced this vital support service to the company, where over 13,500 people work, with that number expected to grow. His chaplaincy provides emotional and spiritual support to workers of all faiths, or none, and is part of the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team. Tony balances his role at BAE with his duties at St. Mark's and the Barrow Raiders rugby team. He aims to eventually develop a chaplaincy team on-site, ensuring ongoing support for employees facing various life challenges.
