Our flagship course in collaboration with Church Mission Society offers an authentically northern approach for those looking to explore creative mission. Whether you are working in a Time Honoured setting, in a Fresh Expression or simply exploring how to reach new people in new ways this course could help. You can read more about the course here.

Pioneer Curate IME 2 Training

Created for any curate designated as a pioneer or with a specific missional brief to their curacy. Run on a three year rolling programme in partnership with Church Mission Society, these sessions are designed to support the fulfilment of the learning criteria for pioneer IME2. Examples of learning include: Listening in context, Pioneer Leadership, Pioneer Priest and Pastor, Pioneer Spirituality, Resilient Pioneer Ministry, Pioneer Ecclesiology. This training will help you explore what contextual pioneering looks like and what it means to be a pioneer leader. Please email helen.harwood@churchmissionsociety.org for more information.

Pioneer Parishes and Circuits

After the successful pilot of Pioneering Parishes and Circuits in Cumbria in 2023 we are bringing in a range of support to build on this. The online Pioneering Parishes sessions and learning community is available to everyone and the link for that can be found here.  In addition Nicky Smith has arranged for Rev Greg Bakker to running six pioneer parishes bespoke sessions for those new to Cumbria or moving parishes, please contact steve.minto@carlislediocese.org.uk for more information.

Tailored Local Training and Coaching

We are able to work with local Mission Communities to develop bespoke training relevant to the local area around creative mission and innovation. We also offer one to one support with those involved in or looking to explore creative mission, Fresh Expressions or Pioneering in Cumbria.
